Ongoing intellectual development prepares our members to use their reasoning ability and business acumen to impact others for the good and influence culture for the betterment of every human person.

Our feature luncheon series provides executives and business professionals the opportunity to gain keen insight from recognized leaders in business, culture and academia. Each presenter will provide examples of good leadership qualities based on Lumen?s core values and offer suggestions on how to form oneself into a leader that others will want to follow.

Issues In Play™
This members-only series features today's most knowledgeable cultural leaders analyzing hot topics of the day with the goal of giving our members a better grasp of crucial current debates (global warming, radical Islam, stem-cell research, faith & science, etc), so they can engage more effectively within their own circles of influence.

Issues In Play™
A regular gathering of small groups of Lumen members who meet to analyze and discuss a simulated ethical business dilemma from a moral and prudential point of view. The format also provides a confidential forum where they can counsel or be counseled by other executives on the moral challenges they confront daily, such as:
- fraud and theft - ethical negotiations
- diversity - abuse in the workplace
- government regulations & compliance - challenges of a global economy
 
 
 
 
Spiritual Development
A member of Lumen Institute is offered ample opportunity to understand his responsibility to grow in the knowledge of his faith and constantly exercise the Gospel virtues within the spheres of business, family, and society.
 
  Spiritual Coaching:
   
 
meet one-on-one with the Lumen chaplain
develop and review a personal Business Plan for the Soul™
receive guidance for everyday living within the professional, family & social spheres
participate on a quarterly basis
 
 
 
 
 
Social Commitment

Lumen membership places a high priority on each member working actively to help society confront the enormous challenges that individualism, materialism, and secularism pose to business culture, family unity, and community spirit.

Lumen Membership requires each Member and Associate to participate once per year in one of the three Lumen Action project groups listed below. It is incumbent upon them to use their influence and leadership capacity to transform the way men and women think and act through positive contributions to specific projects that re-shape culture

1. Lumen Institute Speaker Bureau involvement entails addressing individuals within one of the four following audiences:
 
CEOs, presidents and other executives
Upper/Middle management personnel
Medical & Legal professionals
University Faculty, Students & Youth
2. Mentoring and Internship Programs...for current and future leaders
3. Generating and participating in new enterprises that respond to the most urgent educational, family and socio-economic needs of both local and international communities
