Lumen Institute places a high priority on each executive member working actively to round out their personal formation by “giving back.” Each member is encouraged to make positive contributions in the areas of business culture, family unity and community spirit/development.

Lumen Institute requires each member to participate in a formal Lumen Action project each year. Members use their leadership capacity to help influence others through programs such as mentorships, camps and speaking circuits. Members are also encouraged to initiate and participate in new enterprises that respond to the most urgent educational, cultural and socio-economic needs of both local and international communities. Lumen Action is an integral part of each member's formation, as it affords an opportunity to live the core values of character, faith and leadership.
